Round, symmetric parts like shafts, bushings and fittings are fastest and most accurate on a CNC lathe; prismatic parts with pockets, faces and hole patterns belong on a milling machine; and parts that combine both — a shaft with a milled flat, a valve body with cross-holes — run best on a single mill-turn setup that eliminates re-fixturing error. How much does CNC machining cost?

Machine time is usually the biggest driver, so simpler geometry, looser non-critical tolerances and standard materials all lower the price. Can you machine both metal and plastic parts?

Yes. We machine aluminium, stainless, titanium, brass, copper and nickel superalloys, plus engineering plastics such as PEEK, Delrin/POM, nylon and PTFE. Plastics are machined with sharp tooling and air cooling to avoid melting and, for hygroscopic materials like nylon, conditioned stock to hold tolerance.

What is the difference between CNC milling and CNC turning?

Turning rotates the workpiece against a fixed tool and is ideal for round, symmetric parts (shafts, bushings, fittings). Milling rotates the tool against a fixed workpiece and suits prismatic parts with flats, pockets and hole patterns. Many parts combine both and run best on a mill-turn machine in one setup.
